Poor auld Dave didn't really get Jam Jar Jail judging by his comments at the end of Elevator. I remember standing behind him and some of The Whipping Boy one night in The Baggot, and they were enthusing to him about Sonic Youth (this would have been around the time of Daydream Nation). Dave's response was "I'm not really into that arty stuff".
